Men's Tuesday Bible Study
The Life Of Jacob
Teacher: David Borror
Consumed by Self, Pursued by God
How God rescues a failing faith
Jacob was a man consumed with being Jacob – a schemer, deceiver – handling life on his own. After being raised in a less than desirable family, Jacob’s story is about the bankruptcy of manipulating people to get his own way, and thereby refusing God’s best. His life is an illustration of the drastic and often dramatic ways God uses to humble us, and to compel us to depend on Him.
It is because God is the God of Jacob that we have such confidence in His mercy, grace, love, and longsuffering. Jacob is yet another example of what grace can do for even the very worst of us, because no failure need be final. When we consider all that the Almighty God was able to do with Jacob, we acknowledge that there is hope for us also. And not just hope for survival, but hope for a fruitful life in Him.
You are invited to join the Men of Tuesday Morning for this power-packed profile of life going from being a rogue to a man of faith. Explicit Gospel - the specifics and the fullness of the Good News
In this DVD series popular Pastor Matt Chandler will calls us to comprehend true Christianity, to know the gospel explicitly, and to unite the church on the amazing foundation of the good news of Jesus.
A proper understanding of the gospel will help us embrace and rely on the gospel to grow in Christlikeness, to persevere in our faith, to serve others in the power of Jesus, and to celebrate our eternal redemption.
Our men’s ministry emphasizes growth through the community, encouragement, support, and accountability of small groups that provide a confidential & non-threatening environment. Discipleship small groups, using the Navigator 2:7 series, meet at various times throughout the week.
Saturday Morning of Prayer
Last Saturday of the Month
8:00am - 12:00noon
Atrium Board Room
On each last Saturday of each month, there is opportunity to join with other men in spending extended time with God in prayer—away from the cell phone, email, and the pressure of life. Even if you can only attend for a couple hours, please feel free to participate.
Prayer begins as a large group. Men then go off separately throughout the church for several hours of prayer and reflection with the Lord. We have the material available to help guide this time alone with God. At the end of the morning, the group regroups to pray and share about the time of prayer and reflection upon God and His Word.
Bagels, Coffee and Juice are provided.
