Updated 9/1/10...

* Pray for the Uganda Short-term Missions Team (Brent & Inell Slater, Connie Jarlsberg - leaders, Josh & Tali Belokonny, Eric Moore, Anne Page, Loosha Simmons, Wendy Szymczak, Laura Thomas and Denise Wright) as they left last Thursday for two weeks. Pray that they will show compassion to those that participate in the free medical clinic sponsored by Kampala Baptist Church. Pray that the music workshop will benefit the Ugandans that lead in worship and that the pastors would be encouraged and challenged by the teaching of Brent and Eric.

* A. W. (Eurasia) has had her prayers answered and will be moving to join a team in a city of 70,000 people in southwestern Eurasia. A fellowship of British people was started about 5 years ago, so everything is in English. But they have learned that there are at least 15 believers in that city (which is a lot for that size city). The fellowship there wants to become more bilingual and eventually have an entirely Non-English service. Consequently she will be helping translate on Sundays and help with a Bible study. She will also still be devoting a lot of time to language study, as she is not as fluent as she would like to be and still has a lot to learn. She is still working on her seminary requirements also and will be taking 2 classes online this fall through Moody Theological Seminary. She is also requesting prayer as she moves from a large city to a small city where the culture is a lot different.

* Bob & Joyce Sterner (Wycliffe in NC) along with the Powlisons are rejoicing in reports of a God-blessed, successful trip in June to distribute MegaVoice players to Yagua communities in Peru. Two Wycliffe MK's who grew up in Peru made the 3 week jungle river trip with a Peruvian pastor and 2 Yagua Indians, one of whom is 76, and had worked with Mom & Dad Powlison. Almost 200 players have now been distributed and recipients are enthusiastically listening to them. The Yaguas that went on the trip want to continue with distribution of the remaining 100 players and follow-up teaching. Joyce saw a new doctor on 07/30 and was able to be a part of the family vacation in August. Pray that there will be an improvement in her health and that God will be glorified in her life.

* Pray for A. N. (Central Asia) as she has recently been informed by the NGO running the hospital, that "they don't want outside help" and therefore, she is not welcome to work there anymore. She is still doing the project with disabled children, but will need to find something else to do mornings. Pray for guidance. Praise for the new doctor hired (pray she stays on!), for new patients, for a new time and place to meet with "K". Also pray for those who are persecuted for their faith and for peace. A. plans on coming home mid December to mid April.

* P. O. (Central Asia) requests prayer for those who come to their Sunday night Bible study, that they will sense the Holy Spirit working and moving in their lives. They had a new person come to the Bible study who is not a believer. Pray that P. will get the needed rest and relaxation while on vacation and that she will retain what she has learned and get a chance to use it. Pray that she'll be able to share openly with her teacher at language study the Good News.

* Pray for Jon & Jenny Davis (World Venture in Uganda) as they transition out of language study and into ministry with their local church. Pray for wisdom in what to get involved in and what to say no to. They would also appreciate prayer for continued good adjustment with the newest member of their family, Daniel, who is 2 years old. Pray especially for their daughter, Meg, who is 2-1/2 as she adjusts to having a brother.
