*Dave & Lynn West (ABWE in MI) departed for East Asia yesterday seeking to make contact with former students who have been with us here at HPBC.  They also wish to establish contact with local believers for future support of students who return to East Asia.  In addition to this, they desire to provide assistance for believers’ future growth, and to make contact with new students coming to the USA in August.   Prayer concerns are for Dave's health and shortness of breath.  Please pray that the air pollution is at good levels while they are there for Dave's breathing problems.

*Suzy Grumelot (WorldTeam in France) asks for prayer this week as they are in the midst of their 13th Annual Prayer Conference.  The 4 interns arrived last week, along with the 22 from around the globe this past week-end (including our own Anita Wagoner) to join Suzy and teammates in this conference.  The national train strikes are into their 9th day with the gov’t. and train drivers unions at a gridlock.  Pray that this will not halt the prayers of the conference.  Pray that the interns will be able to get the participants to various sites this week.

*Jeff & Mary Baldwin (GEM in Greece) ask for prayer as they are in the U.S. for several weeks this summer.  Jeff has been so busy with the Greek Bible Institute (zoning problems, etc.) that he has not had an opportunity to work on his PhD dissertation.  Pray that he will find the balance of needed study time, as well as family time this summer.  Hopefully, he will be able to spend some time coming our way in Sept. before returning to Greece.  They are so thankful that the Bible College was able to buy the property next door to the college which should allow for a significant expansion, after years of government regulations.

*Pray for K. & L. K. (Asia) as L. embarks on another Freedom Climb 2014 – 7 Summits.  Pray for her as she prepares for this 4 day rigorous adventure where 144 will be climbing 7 mountains in CO to fight human trafficking work on the field.  The funds raised for anti-human trafficking work includes spiritual development, education, healthcare and economic development.  Pray for protection for all participants.

*Pray for J. & C. K. (Asia).  C’s Mom, Norma Jean, transitioned into a Heartland Rehab Facility in Sterling Heights on Saturday.  C is now taking her for dialysis treatments on Mon – Weds – Fri to Beaumont, Royal Oak.  Pray for wisdom on how to best handle long-term care for Norma Jean.  It will most likely necessitate J coming to the US for a minimum of 4-6 months.  They would then need to consider possible alternative housing options—please pray about that.  Son, Peter, is now in their capital to start a 5 week TESOL certificate program which he hopes will make him marketable in Asia where he plans to teach English in a university there for the next year.  Pray for daughter, Jasmine, who is looking for a nursing job.

*Ade & Jenni Olowo (GCM in TX) ask for prayer for team members of their STM trips to Italy, Asia and Serbia.  Jenni has spent the year training these teams to be ready for the work the Lord has for them.  They are thankful that they were in MI for a conference and spend time with Jenni’s Grandma a week before she died.  They were able to attend the CAFO summit to worship alongside 3,000 other orphan care advocates and learn from those researching the best practices in caring for these precious children.  Pray for wisdom as they try to implement some new tools with the staff and orphanage in Nigeria.

Pray for Irma Sawdon (retired in WA). Irma is happy to be living with her daughter and hopefully by now in her own room that was being finished by her son-in-law and others.   She is active in Bethel Community Church and has good friends and fellowship there, with 1 activity a month to attend.  She appreciates our prayers and would love to hear from you.  Write her at 4503 M Drive, Washougal, WA 98671.
