*Pray for J. B. as her team finishes up a Transition Seminar for MKs. These kids went to Illinois for this seminar in hopes of connecting with other students and staff as they re-enter American culture – to be better equipped starting college or high school this fall. Pray that God will use it to meet the deep and significant needs of their lives.
*Pray for Dick & Vicki Gascho (GEM in CO) as they travel to India this month – Vicki to northern India and Dick to the south – to teach a new group of students in Christian development. Pray that they will speak with clarity and that God would be honored.
*Suzy Grumelot (WorldTeam in Paris) asks for prayer this week as the executive committee of Shoulder to Shoulder meet to plan a gathering of seasoned singles in ministry in Europe for Nov. They are meeting in the UK to collaborate on teaching modules and workshops to use for this seminar. Pray next month as World Team’s Regional Europe Conference is held in Hungary – 80 adults and 40 children. Please pray for Jean-Pierre, an older man in Suzy’s English class who has been sick, and a 2nd surgery has not taken care of the problem. Pray that he would find Jesus. Pray for Madeleine who is recuperating in a rehab center with a broken hip. Pray that God would draw her to Himself. Pray for Francoise – also at the center – who has joined in the Bible reading and prayer time with Suzy. Pray for restoration and renewal for Suzy, as she feels a bit ‘worn out’ from a year of spiritual battles. Encourage her at email@example.com.
*Evan & Carrie Parks (SEND on home assignment from Hungary) have enjoyed family and speaking opportunities this summer in northern MI. As they prepare to head back to Budapest, pray for Evan as he prepares to lead a 3 day seminar at the Balaton Net conference—an annual conference designed to encourage and strengthen church leaders and members from across the country from all evangelical denominations. Evan will be teaching on how to recognize and help those with addictions. Pray for Evan’s Hungarian speaking ability to come back quickly!
*Mark & Denise Bruner (Avant in MO) have just finished another Candidate Orientation with 15 new Appointees. They are thankful for 11 new churches planted in the past year by the Avant church planting teams. Pray for Mark’s continued healing for his eye. After his recent surgery, he is experiencing a noticeable increase in vision and quite a decrease in discomfort and pain. His eye Dr. is having a special contact lens fabricated for him that will decrease his light sensitivity and improve the comfort level even more. Congratulate Denise who graduated last week and has officially joined the ranks of the nursing profession! Email her firstname.lastname@example.org.
*Pray for Joe & Jeannie Ciluffo (Camino Global in MI). Pray for their 7th Annual Kid’s Camp scheduled for the week of Aug. 4. This is always a highlight for the church (First Spanish-American Baptist in Pontiac) and the community kids. Pray that God would provide the workers, resources, good weather and money to make it happen.
*Glenn & Linn Boese (WorldVenture in Cote d’Ivoire) are happy to report that 2 graduation ceremonies in June added 20 pastors to the corps of those working in their Baptist churches. There are 463 churches, plus some smaller groups, and there have only been 110 pastors trained to shepherd them. They also joined in a celebration of the dedication of a new church building in Ouangolodougou where over 100 now regularly attend. Amidst the joy of celebrating, there are challenges as well. Please pray for broken marriages with no movement toward healing; roots of bitterness that divide co-workers; a Nyarafolo believer in jail for 7 mos. after a burglary at a bank where he was a guard – no charges yet leveled.
