*Congratulations to Amos & Ashley Miguel (CRU on home assignment from Italy) as they celebrate the birth of their son, Lael Aquila John Miguel last Friday! He was 6 lbs. 2 oz.’s. Ashley (Erdman) is the niece of Dave and Julie Kuntzman. Pray that God would use the seminary class they are taking during their Home Assignment to equip them for their ministry and to draw them closer to Him. Pray for their long-term staff and student leaders – specifically Renato and Roberta that they interacted with before they returned to the States.
*John & Jacky Weidman (Navigators in Detroit) ask for prayer this week while they are at overnight camp with 15 teens from Highland Park. There is no program that is as impactful to the future life of inner city kids as summer camp. Pray for God’s leading and financial provision as they seek to hire a new administrator and program coordinator to run the youth ministry programs in the coming school year. Pray for the ongoing healing of son, Johnny’s broken ankle—that he may be able to play soccer for his upcoming senior year. Pray for daughter, Jocelyn, to be able to find a job this fall in graphic design.
*Tim & Kay Munger (Friends of Israel in MI) ask for prayer for the peace of Jerusalem – particularly after the kidnapping and murder of 3 Jewish young men during the Palestinian and Israeli skirmishes. As anti-Semitism is on the rise around the world, Belgium, North Africa and some European countries is resulting in a growing fear for Jewish residents. Pray for them as they seek to share His message where ultimate safety is to know Jesus as Savior.
*Pray for Brian & Megan Meyers (WorldVenture on home assignment from Mozambique) as they are home for the summer and hosting Cuamba, a recent medical-school graduate from Mozambique who is here to pursue specialized training in the U.S. Pray for a much needed teacher for home-schooling the 3 older girls this next academic year. If you or know of someone interested, please contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org before they return in late Aug.
*Pray for P.O. (home assignment from Asia) as she returns from Chicago today. She visited friends and shared about her ministry – pray that good connections were made and that God would increase her support level before she returns in Aug. Pray for health check-ups to reveal any unknown issues that need attention to allow her to return with a clean bill of health. Pray for the local Chinese church’s Friday night Bible studies that she has been able to participate in while here—that God would be pleased to grow this fellowship. Pray for her roommate, Vivi, and her father. He has been hospitalized in Asia and is in a coma. Pray that Vivi’s newfound faith would not be hindered no matter what happens to her father.
*Jenni & Ade Olowo (GCM in TX) ask for prayer for their short-term missions team currently in Nigeria. Their team of 11 has been busy with kids from the HELP Care Center orphanage ministering in a myriad of ways—teaching how to lead in worship; teaching new songs; conducting educational assessments on each primary school child to help design programs to improve reading, writing and math; and playing with the kids. Pray for safety as they travel home to TX and readjustment in jet lag, and for soul searching as the team members consider what long-term missions might look like.
*Pray for Kirk Slater & 2 older sons (home assignment from Uganda) as they arrive tomorrow to join Laura and 2 younger boys (who arrived for an earlier visit with Laura’s folks) for their home assignment thru Dec. They will be staying in the mission apts. (248-796-7785). Be sure to welcome them as you see them in church.
